article title criteria
, "Northern England supercity" is likely to be more:

  • recognisable than the specific neologism Manpool (or the alternative, Liverchester)
  • naturally used and searched for, given that
    supercity
    is an established term
  • appropriately precise, avoiding
WP:OVERPRECISION, as both John Prescott and Will Alsop's visions mentioned in the article were about more than just Liverpool and Manchester, extending to Hull, Leeds etc. Jonathan Deamer (talk) 22:43, 2 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. SilverLocust 💬 16:34, 12 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 12:20, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply

@Orange sticker May be it merged with Liverpool–Manchester rivalry? Into like just Liverpool–Manchester? Like Minneapolis–Saint Paul? DankJae 10:49, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I feel like a can of worms would be opened... Orange sticker (talk) Orange sticker (talk) 10:56, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
May be Northern Powerhouse then? Nonetheless, if this is “Northern England” then should the article focus on a Liverpool-Manchester-Leeds-Hull proposals? DankJae 12:07, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As I've pointed out in my other comment, that's what the majority of the references support, if "proposals" is even the right word, more like theories and ideas. Orange sticker (talk) 12:17, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think we're better off just deleting the article. Eopsid (talk) 10:02, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Conditional Support - None of the proposals, ideas, theories whatever you want to call them are sincerly suggesting that it actually be called a portmanteau of its member cities. If someone started facetiously calling Brighton and Hove, Brighove, then you wouldn't suggest moving the article unless Brighove actually became a common name. So if the article is to stay, then I'd support the proposed move. But as said above, it could also be merged into other articles. -- D'n'B-t -- 05:08, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support According to the sources, most of the proposals involve merging other cities such as Hull and Leeds. The 1968 plan focuses on Liverpool and Manchester and has been called "Manpool", while the 2004 Prescott plan and the Alsop plan both involved the creation of a wider Northern supercity. The 2014 O'Neill plan considered both options, along with several proposed names which included "ManPool" for the exclusive Manchester–Liverpool merge. It seems clear that the main topic of the article should be the Northern supercity as a whole, and it isn't clear that the concept of "Manpool" is independently notable from it.
