File:Paresh Rawal.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

An image used in this article, File:Paresh Rawal.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is
    non-free
then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no
    fair use rationale
then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Paresh Rawal.jpg)

Birth date

I found a couple of news sources that list his birthday as May 30, 1950. Are these reliable enough to be used in the article? I wanted to double check before I added it back in. Random character sequence (talk) 20:09, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for starting this discussion regarding the disputed birth date. As mentioned on my talk page, bollywoodlife is a blog and definitely not a reliable source. The second, at first glance, appears more reliable, but if you look closer you can see they've lifted their images without any type of attribution and there is no information on their website as to where they obtain their information, their privacy policy or disclaimers. That's dodgy and doesn't meet the "published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" required to be considered a reliable source. I will also note for those who want to join the discussion who may be unfamiliar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines,
reliable sourcing criteria. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 15:55, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply

Thanks for the help. If I come across a better source, I'll post it here. Random character sequence (talk) 19:14, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
