The Store Bar shooting was a
Republican Action Force at The Store Bar (which was also known as Walkers Bar) on Lyle Hill Road in Templepatrick, County Antrim
.
Attack
The Republican group sprayed the pub with an
AR-15
assault rifle killing three people and injuring about a half a dozen.
The victims were Ruby Kidd (28), Francis Walker (17) and Joseph McBride (56), all Protestant civilians.[1]
Aftermath
A week after the bar shooting the UVF carried out a gun attack on a Catholic-owned pub, the Ramble Inn, six people were killed in the attack five of them Protestants and just one Catholic which was considered a failure or "own goal" by the UVF. The shooting was carried out because the bar owners where Catholics.[1]
