The American Zionist Movement (AZM) is the American federation of Zionist groups and individuals affiliated with the World Zionist Organization. According to its mission, it is committed to Zionism: the idea that the Jewish people is one people with a shared history, values and language.

History

The American Zionist Movement was founded in 1993 as a successor organization of the American Zionist Federation. Since then, it has been the official representative of the World Zionist Organization in the United States, and it is in charge of carrying out elections and sending delegates to the World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem every five years.[citation needed]

Principles

The AZM subscribes to the five principles of the Jerusalem Program:[1]
