1977-2006
In the
Trinamool Congress in 2006,[15] Bani Kumar Singha of Trinamool Congress in 2001,[14] Pulak Roy of Congress in 1996,[13] and Amar Banerjee of Congress in 1991.[12] Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Amar Banerjee of Congress defeated Rabindra Ghosh of Forward Bloc in 1987.[11] Rabindra Ghosh of Forward Bloc defeated Minati Adhikari of Congress in 1982.[10] Aurobindo Ghosal of Forward Bloc defeated Abani Basu, Independent in 1977.[9][18]
