Trinamool Congress, respectively. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Ram Janam Majhi representing Congress defeated Asta Das of CPI(M) in 1996.[13] Raj Kumar Mondal of CPI(M) defeated Gunakar Sinha of Congress in 1991,[12] Gobinda Sinha of Congress in 1987,[11] Gunakar Singh of Congress in 1982,[10] and Arun Pramnik of Janata Party in 1977.[9][18]
