St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering is an Autonomous institution which is owned, administered and run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kuzhithurai. Rev. Dr. M. Maria William is the current Correspondent of the college.

This is the first College in Kanyakumari District to get accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade and all UG Programmes (except B.Tech.(AI&DS)) accredited by NBA.The college has seven Research centers which are consisting of Thirty Six research supervisors of Anna University, Chennai, among the total of Sixty Four doctoral degree holders of various disciplines from this institution.
This college became an Autonomous Institution on its Silver Jubilee year( ie, 25th year) in 2022.
